This perfectly situated Gladwyne Manor home boasts “real style”. The “power couple” who owns this beautiful property exudes exquisite taste and knows how to properly entertain their guests. These empty nesters were ready to update their treasured family home. Our main focus was designing their formal living spaces consisting of the foyer, living room and dining room. The goal was to create a classic and timeless space that blended the couple’s personalities while keeping potential resale in mind.

We utilized all the existing furnishings by simply reupholstering them with sophisticated tone on tone textiles. We created a new space plan which gives the room multiple functions and seating areas. The textiles were seamlessly blended with new wall coverings, window treatments, and additional recessed lighting. A custom pelmet was designed for the dining room in lieu of the prior formal valence and drape combo. A slight arch in the cornice brings one’s eye forward to the formal garden and patio which sits gracefully centered beyond the large dining room window. Guests now enter into a beautiful foyer which is papered with a modernized damask; as you move into the adjoining spaces, subtle yet detailed design choices highlight the owners extensive art collection.

By keeping the palette neutral and using luxurious textures like silk velvets and animal print, the story feel authentic and bespoke. Functionality, personality, and style were creatively blended for a new-classic look.
