Interior Design Project

Ardmore, PA

Project Overview

THE ART OF DECORATING

Our clients found their dream home in the charming neighborhood of Penn Valley, PA. We originally met when we were asked to decorate the exterior of their home for the holidays. The location feels as if you are tucked away in the suburbs while having quick access to places like Suburban Square in Ardmore, PA. Every house along the block could be in a storybook. The bones of the house have a rich mainline-Pennsylvania feel. These historic homes are both fun and challenging when orchestrating a design plan.

Ardmore PA Interior Decorator Space Designing

Not every project requires an architect or contractor. Some of our work consists of large renovations but others are simply decorating or furnishing a space. A simple facelift is a great way to make a house feel like home.

Our clients needed help making the house feel like home with finishing touches. Their first task was adding some warmth throughout the home. Custom solutions like draperies in the living room, kitchen and dining room helped breathe life into the space. We are very particular about our window treatments. Luckily, our workroom located in Berwyn, PA is incredible in partnering alongside our creatives. We are always able to create the perfect solution which leads to client-designer bliss. In this case, the clients wanted to keep the architectural details visible. We decided to do acrylic hardware with trim-lined drapery panels. The treatments were designed to eat up wallspace while keeping the windows open for light. The color palette is how we connected all the rooms together. Good flow from room to room is important. Blue, earth tones and “nature inspired” art works were chosen to tell our clients’ story throughout the main level. Our entire process is transparent and allows the client to have control without sacrificing the return on investment. We are their advisors and consultants along the way.

Artwork was carefully chosen for each space to enhance the clients’ existing collection. The clients’ second home in the mountains was where we pulled our inspiration from. Oversized art was chosen to fill a long, skinny wall in the foyer and wall spaces were balanced with coordinating images of all different sizes. Our meticulous art installers filled an adjoining wall with family photos creating a “gallery wall”. Photos grouped together, either on the wall or displayed on a table, always create a cozy family-friendly environment. These details truly made our clients feel at home. We always try to think like our client. Taste is subjective so we will notate details starting from our initial consultation. It’s all in the details because everyone is different.

A vinyl “grasscloth” was installed in the foyer and repeated over the fireplace creating texture with an easy wipe-able surface. Accessories were brought in to pair with the client’s existing furnishings. It’s fun to work with items our clients already love. A violin was placed into a built-in shelf which separated the living room and family room. No furniture was rearranged but the finishing touches really helped make these spaces feel like home. Part of our presentation was suggestions for when the furniture will be replaced down the road. Having a plan in place gives the clients a vision to follow as they grow into their space. We have since worked on a few other projects for them and it’s always a pleasure. We are truly fortunate to partner with so many wonderful families.
