OLD WORLD CHARM
“This fully restored Wallingford estate is a prime example of old world charm seamlessly blended with modern sensibilities. A large renovation can only be achieved through proper budgeting and planning. Our clients were trading in their charming, white-picketed home in Wayne for a larger home near Media that would cut down on their daily commute. Their new property had just turned one hundred years old and was soon to be the “hip” new home to a young and growing family. “

Wallingford Indoor & Outdoor Design
Before the family moved in, our team was able to renovate what would soon be their first child’s bathroom, a powder room and the home’s main living spaces creating a turn-key product. We gutted the bathrooms down to the studs, repainted every inch of the home, removed an intruding wood-burning stove, and completely refurbished a family room that contained multiple types of flooring surfaces. With our client’s approval, we kept the old world charm while creating a safe and comfortable environment for the family.
A year later and another baby was on the way! It was time for a real master suite where the couple could unwind and escape. We were back to complete their dream suite along with a to-do list on the exterior of the home.
On the exterior we filled in a large pond and replaced it with a patio, re-worked all the front and rear landscaping and removed several gardens to extend the lawn. These solutions minimized additional maintenance making the home more manageable and enjoyable. The whole exterior was painted. The final touch was landscape lighting which added safety, beauty and additional security.
Inside we designed one of our favorite updates…the master retreat! It was also demolished to its studs and rebuilt. We were able to create a large luxurious bathroom, dressing room with custom closets and an enhanced laundry room. These spaces were completed with modern details like built-in bluetooth speakers and motorized shades.
This home is now the envy of the block! Our clients are proud to call this one-of-a-kind property their new home.
